The Montessori Teachers Association (Western Australia Conference is on 20th April 20256. This is an all-day event and will be held in Mosman Park at Beehive Montessori School.
We are very excited to be offering a range of presentation and workshops, under the broad theme of “Inclusion Beyond the Classroom.”
The WA Disabled Sports Association (WADSA) will be running a half-day course consisting of a presentation then practical sessions focusing on how to include children with disabilities in physical activities such as sport, fitness and camp events. Conference attendees will receive an inclusion guide, as well as refresher training, ongoing WADSA support as required, and access to the WADSA loan system for specialised equipment.
Nicola Cooke from Nueroinclusion will be presenting on ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). Nicola will be talking about this aspect of neurodivergence and suggesting strategies for inclusion regarding camps, “healthy eating” activities, food preparation, and practical life materials.
The day will conclude with some sitting down chair yoga and chair dance from Chiara at Shanti Vibe Yoga Healing.
The conference cost is $90 for members and $150 for non-members. Morning tea and lunch is provided. Conference attendees need to wear comfortable clothing and shoes, suitable for sports-style activities.
